Universal Battle Trench UBT

The Universal Battle Trench (UBT) has been developed for the UK MoD to improve the 4-person battle trench, a system that hasn’t changed for over 70 years. It offers superior protection to blast and ballistic threats including delayed fuse 155mm Artillery as well as providing MBT overrun in any soil conditions. The UBT offers concrete structure performance, delivered on a pallet and fully deployed in hours using only a shovel.  It has been conceived and developed in support of a rapid deployment strategic battle plan.

The system is logistically simple. 1 pallet = 1 UBT – 8 linear meters of supported trench 1m wide, comprising 4m open fire bay and 4 meters of overhead cover, parapet reinforcement and suspended flooring.   The support is installed in 1m structurally independent sections and can be installed in a pre-excavated hole or incrementally as dug by hand. Offering immediate protection.

The system can be stacked in storage with an indefinite shelf life. It is ideal for pre-positioning and rapid dispersal in support of a defensive battle plan to provide hardened fighting positions.

The UBT can be easily modified to counter specific threat scenarios and requirements. The key elements of the UBT are transferable and B+SL have the skill and experience to adapt the system to user requirements.  Local delivery partners are welcome for manufacture, training and system refurbishment. A small number of UBT systems are held in stock for customer demonstration, and units are made to order and shipped worldwide.
